Pulling the text out of a PDF
Morphr reads the text from your PDF and rebuilds it as ODT, giving you something to edit or reflow instead of a fixed page. The words and reading order come across; the original layout, fonts and images don’t. It only works on PDFs that contain real text — a scanned, image-only PDF has nothing to extract.
PDF and ODT, explained
PDF is the universal format for finished, fixed-layout documents that look identical everywhere. It is built for viewing, sharing and printing rather than editing. ODT is the OpenDocument text format used by LibreOffice and OpenOffice, an open counterpart to DOCX.
Good to know
- Your PDF files never leave your device — everything converts locally in the browser, so even confidential ones stay private.
- Convert as many PDF files as you like at once; a batch comes back as a single ZIP.
- Scanned, image-only PDFs have no text layer to extract.
- No sign-up, no watermark and no size limit beyond your device’s memory.
The private way to turn PDF into ODT
With Morphr, the whole conversion runs inside your browser tab using Morphr's own engine, so your file is never uploaded to a server, queued, or stored. That makes it a safe choice for personal photos, scanned documents and anything you'd rather not hand to a third party.
